| Ep20: You Can't Stop Me From Sharing My C Drive |
| · Written by Andrew · Sunday, 12 July 2009 20:00 · |
After a week of solid blogs and some great conversation surrounding Team Fortress 2 and Fallout 3 we now have LP2 Episode 20 for your pleasure. This episode focuses strongly on digital distribution models and the various digital rights management on music, movies and games. Ben starts it off by laying down the unavoidable fact that you can't stop him from sharing everything/anything he wants. Curtis gives some background on the music industry and Andrew talks about BigChampagne (this is the Wired article I read years ago about it) and how the music industry makes money off Peer-to-Peer. The chat changes gears to parallel that DRM info into the games industry, as the platoon strongly states that the guy(s) who designed Blood Gulch should be rich because they rock. Jaime talks about a new game DemiGod where one legal serial allows you to install on multiple machines. The pro's and cons are debated and the decision is made to do less and outsource more. Kerry is either not present or already passed out drunk.Download | Right Click and "Save As" to download this file |
