Episode 21 focuses mostly on MLG Canada and its recent collapse. The conversation starts with why it faltered and some of the content that Fire Team Charlie created for MLGC before they were absorbed into MLG Pro. The Platoon compares TV ratings and popularity of gaming against poker and dancing with the stars as they try and figure out who exactly could possibly be watching these shows. Back on the topic of the failure of MLG Canada, promotion and mismanagement are the best guess, as Kerry points out horrible interviews as official content through the MLG Canada YouTube channel. Listen up and give us your opinion here, why did MLG Canada go under?

After a week of solid blogs and some great conversation surrounding Team Fortress 2 and Fallout 3 we now have LP2 Episode 20 for your pleasure. This episode focuses strongly on digital distribution models and the various digital rights management on music, movies and games. Ben starts it off by laying down the unavoidable fact that you can't stop him from sharing everything/anything he wants. Curtis gives some background on the music industry and Andrew talks about BigChampagne (this is the Wired article I read years ago about it) and how the music industry makes money off Peer-to-Peer. The chat changes gears to parallel that DRM info into the games industry, as the platoon strongly states that the guy(s) who designed Blood Gulch should be rich because they rock. Jaime talks about a new game DemiGod where one legal serial allows you to install on multiple machines. The pro's and cons are debated and the decision is made to do less and outsource more. Kerry is either not present or already passed out drunk.

In what will go down as probably the most disgusting podcast to date, Episode 19 at least brings some seriously awesome games to the table, in Golden Axe, Prince of Persia, Stuntcar Racer and the the extremely famous SimCity. These were well made games, developed by one or two people but they managed to break through from previous years with great new ideas and game styles. The platoon covers these games in depth and picks a couple of winners. Stay tuned this week for lots of updates and new discussions as we lead up to Ep#20.
