This must be the week of the Nintendo remake. First we had word of an updated Goldeneye (rumour), but now we have official word that Excitebike has been updated and is being released on the Wii November 9th. Back in 2007 you could get the original version on the Wii's virtual console, which brought the classic game into the home's of youngsters who probably never saw this game before. The World Rally version has pumped up the 1985 classic for 2009, but still appears to have the same original gameplay mechanics and features. Click read more to see a video preview of the game and some of the new included features.
Same style but with a 3/4's camera angle adds some deapth and also lets you see a little bit further up the track. It has a level editor just like the original (a MUST) and it also is going to have online multiplayer, which should be interesting. Sounds like the music is even the same, nice! |

I was too young and impatient at the time to really get full use of it, but was able to do some amazing stuff when emulators with savestates rolled around. I'm talking about going so ridiculously fast that I would jump through the top of the screen.
