It might be old news to some, but I certainly wasn't aware of this project. Aaron Yorke over at thatvideogameblog.com interviewed Jerrel Dulay back in April of 2009 about his latest project, transforming TLOZ : Link's Awakening for the Game Boy into a 3D world.

Recently whenever I bring up topics like the X-com difficulty bug, Halo 1, or recount the story of that mammoth loach I snagged back in '98, there is always a percentage of people ( albeit small ) who go on flippantly telling me how the human brain is hard-wired to recollect experiences from the past as being rosier than they really where blah blah blah - basically, I must like classic games because my memory of them has changed favourably over time, just like a drunk guy's perception of "hot" may change as the night goes on.

Keeping with a racing theme, I thought I'd relay the big news today, which was the official confirmation of a track editor for Gran Turismo 5 (GT5). I played the crap out of GT3:A-Spec and it was the best racing simulation game I've ever played (after Rad Racer of course). The addition of the ability to build tracks from scratch or modify the built in tracks is incredible. I might just have to finally get a PS3. Thanks to gameranx for the info. |

This is the first video in a new series I'm starting about awesome classic games that you probably didn't play for one reason or another. They are still awesome and deserve their moment of glory. The first episode reviews Rad Racer for the Nintendo in 1987 (big year). You get to see which car is faster in a frame by frame split screen showdown as well as getting a glimpse at the gimmicky 3D option the game had. Hope you enjoy, vote it up on YouTube if you do!
